Memory Moments Cafe Coordinators Required

Know Dementia is looking for two Cafe Co-ordinators. The cafes provide the opportunity for a person diagnosed with dementia and their family member to attend a cafe in their local area once a week. The Co-ordinator is responsible for running the cafe with support from volunteers. Each session varies so that people have the opportunity to become part of their own community through stimulating activities such as singing, music, art, pet therapy, craft activities, drum circles, movement and reminiscence. We are looking for two enthusiastic people able to run planned activities as well as support the external musicians etc that attend the cafes on an occasional bais. The two vacancies will cover the following areas however there will be a requirement to provide cover when other members of staff are on holiday.

Vacancy 1 – Memory Moments Cafes are in: Buxted every Tuesday morning, Ticehurst every Wednesday morning and Crowborough every Friday afternoon – a total of 15 hours per week

Vacancy 2 – Memory Moments Cafes are in: Uckfield every Monday afternoon, Newick every Tuesday afternoon and Ringmer every Thursday morning – a total of 15 hours per week

We are looking for a positive, responsive and organised person to join our team reporting to our Senior Co-ordinator. Candidates should have experience of working with people with a dementia, providing support for families, managing groups and arranging planned activities.
